Welcome to Mactuts+

Welcome to Mactuts+

Mactuts+ joins Psdtuts+, Vectortuts+, Audiotuts+, Aetuts+, Activetuts+, Cgtuts+, Mobiletuts+, Phototuts+, Webdesigntuts+, Wptuts+ and Nettuts+ as Envato’s newest Tuts+ site.

Mactuts+ is focused on teaching you how to use your Mac more effectively, efficiently, and powerfully. You’ll learn about the basics of OS X, how to switch, how to use accessories and time-saving software, work with your Mac in an enterprise setting, and how to save time with advanced productive tips and tricks.

Whether you’re completely new to OS X or you’re a seasoned pro, we’ve got you covered! Keep reading to learn a little bit more about the new editor of Mactuts+ and what we’ll be offering on the site.

We’ll be publishing a combination of step-by-step written tutorials and screencasts/video lessons. In most weeks we’ll be publishing 4-5 high quality tutorials, so make sure to subscribe to the Mactuts+ RSS feed so you don’t miss a thing.

If you think you have the skills to create a screencast or text and image tutorial for Mactuts+, it’s easy to familiarize yourself with the guidelines and pitch your idea. We’re hungry for user contributions and pay great money for tutorials.

Meet the Editor, Josh Johnson

After working as the editor of Mac.AppStorm for the past year, Josh Johnson will be moving over to share his incredible wealth of Mac knowledge on Mactuts+!

Based in Phoenix, Arizona, Josh is a talented writer, designer, photographer, and long-time Mac user. Not happy with taking OS X at face value, Josh loves to delve deeper into the OS and has all manner of time saving tips and tricks up his sleeve.

Josh couldn’t be more qualified to head up Mactuts+, and I hope you’re looking forward to getting to know him more over the next few months!

I’d like to see some Basix here for Applescripts and some “Make your first App” tuts. Could be a contest in the mix for that one!

Why the grayscale? please change color!

    • http://davidappleyard.net David Appleyard

We’re quickly running out of colours! And we think the greyscale is very “Mac-like” :-)

      • Scott Danielson

I prefer to think of it as a “brushed aluminum” color! :P

Do you also accept App Review for the Mac? and is it only OSX or are you willing to take some posts related to iOS as well.

In short… no and no :)
We have AppStorm.net for all things related to app reviews, here we’re strictly in the education mindset!

Thanks, was really looking forward to a tuts plus for mac. In fact, when asked on other tutsplus websites for our suggestion for the next tutsplus site, I was one of those suggesting one on mac osx. :D
